Friendship is a great thing.
A true friend is someone who has touched your heart and will stay there. Someone you care for and who cares for you. Someone you can do the most stupid things around and you’ll always be forgiven.
Someone that you’ll instantly remember in ten, twenty or thirty years and because they are in your heart and mind and not just your photographs.
They have the ability to change you, even if they don’t want or decide to. They will be etched in your memory or memories forever.
Last night, I caught up for the first time in ages with my best friend. Despite all that I’ve just said, I was worried about how it would go.
I’m stupid to have thought that.
It was amazing, it was like we had never been apart. We shared beers, wine, food and could have chatted all night to each other.
I enjoyed it immensely and it made me realise that I don’t make enough of an effort to keep in touch with all of the people who are important to me. Yes, we all work and life can be busy but it is so important to make time for people you care about.
She left, we hugged and promised to catch up again soon. I know it’ll happen.
We’ll always be.
